Supplementary Lift Tests in South West

Abbey Lifts can carry out the relevant required supplementary tests on your lift.  Supplementary tests are carried out in preparation for your LOLER examination.

In principal the SAFed guidelines are still guidance notes and are in effect designed to supplement the Thorough Examination. As a lift owner you have a duty of care and legal responsibility to ensure the equipment under your control is safe in all respects. The legal requirement is compliance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), which stipulates thorough examinations at given intervals by a competent person.

The competent person you employ to conduct your Thorough Examination under the LOLER regulation may request further 'Supplementary Tests', which are more in depth examinations of specific components of your lift.  Abbey Lifts are able to conduct the Thorough Examination of your lift, together with any Supplementary Tests, that may be required.

Supplementary Tests can be conducted at any time; you do not need to wait for them to be requested by the competent person. Some of our clients choose to have some 'Supplementary Test' undertaken in preparation for a later 'Thorough Examination'.

The competent person can be your insurance company, inspection body, or anyone you wish to contract as long as they are competent.
